What Are Sashes?
Sashes are small banners that appear on or alongside your product images.
They are a great way to highlight unique selling points for your products, such as 'Special Offer', 'New Arrival', 'As Seen On TV' and other incentives to buy.
Sashes allow you to add your message as an overlay, which can be changed quickly and easily.
Using the product sashes section
To navigate to the Product Sashes section, you will need to go to Catalogue > Manage Products > Product Sashes.
On the landing page for product sashes you will see any existing sashes already on your site:
From here you can activate/deactivate your sashes with a single click. You can also use this screen to copy, edit or delete an existing sash. You can also drag and drop sashes into your preferred order, if there are some you will work on more often than others.
Adding a New Product Sash
To create a new sash, click Add a Product Sash
You will then be presented with this screen:
The options presented are detailed below:
Product Sash - This name is for internal use and should help you identify your sash from a list - e.g ‘New In' or 'Exclusive’
Public Text Lines - This is the text that will appear within your sash on-site. As you have a limited amount of space, your content should be short and to the point. There are two boxes so you can split your text over two lines if needed.
Text Colour - This determines the colour of the writing within your sash. If you know the HEX code for your colour choice you can enter it here. Alternatively, click the checkerboard icon to choose your colour from the selector.
Background Colour - This will make up the main body of your sash. Again, you can enter the HEX code or choose a colour from the selector.
Background Opacity - This relates to how see-through you want your sash to be. The higher the opacity, the less you will be able to see through your sash. The below examples show a ribbon sash at 100%, 75% and 50% opacity:
Position - From here you can determine where you would like to show your sash in relation to your product image. In the next option (Style) you will choose the shape of your sash - a block, circle or triangle, so keep this in mind when making your choice.
Style - This determines the shape of your sash. Examples of each style are shown below:
Block - A rectangular sash which can be used in any position.
Circle - A round sash which should only be used with the corner positions.
Ribbon - A diagonal strip which should only be used with the corner positions.
Triangle - A triangular sash which should only be used with corner positions.
Note: The style of sash you select may restrict the number of text characters you can use. If you select a circle, you are limited to 4 characters meaning that this type of sash could be used for 'New' or 'Sale'.
Font Weight - This allows you to choose whether you want your test to be standard or bold.
Border Colour - This will outline the edges of your sash. Enter the HEX code, or choose a colour from the selector.
Border Style - You can choose from solid colour, double line, dotted line or dashed line for a sash border.
Border Width (Pixels) - choose how thick you want your border
Status - Choose whether to have your sash visible on site straight away
